Katie Coombes


Katie has been practicing yoga since 2007 and completed her 200-hr RYT training at Urban Lotus. She was trained by Mark Lerro in the uniquely Chicago-style of vinyasa flow yoga. Her yoga classes offer balanced asana sequences designed to invigorate the physical body, purify the mind, and renew the spirit. Each class includes a brief seated meditation, pranyama (breath exercise), vinyasa flow, and concludes with savasana (deep relaxation pose). Creating a safe environment for students to explore their practice, connect with the breath, and overcome perceived limitations are Katie’s primary goals as a yoga teacher. She encourages a light-hearted approach to the practice believing firmly that through practice magic is forced to arise.
Katie’s personal yoga practice and teaching style are heavily influenced by her favorite teachers - Larissa McKenna, Jana Bricker, and David Duerkop. She is grateful for the practice of yoga and the ever growing community of practitioners. Om Bolo Sat Guru, Bhagavan, Qi Jai.
